judges of the High Court Division paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman located at 32 Dhanmondi in the capital.

They paid tribute on Saturday (August 9).

Those judges are - Justice Mohammad Shawkat Ali Chowdhury, Justice Md.  Atabullah, Justice Biswajit Debnath, Justice Md.  Ali Reza, Justice Md.  Bazlur Rahman, Justice KM Imrul Kayesh, Justice Fahmida Quader, Justice Md.  Bashir Ullah and Justice AKM Rabiul Hasan. Public Relations Officer of the Supreme Court.  Shafiqul Islam said, the judges remembered all the martyrs and brave freedom fighters of the father of the nation's family with deep respect and prayed for the forgiveness of their souls and the well-being of their families. Before this, 9 judges were appointed as additional judges of the high court department on July 31, 2022.  The President appoints them as Additional Judges of the High Court Division for a term not exceeding two years from the date of taking oath under Article 98 of the Constitution.  Their appointment took effect on that day by taking the oath.  After two years, the President appointed them as judges of the High Court Division on July 30.

The Ministry of Law issued a notification in this regard on July 30.  It is said that the President has appointed 9 additional judges of the High Court Division as judges of the High Court Division in consultation with the Chief Justice under the power of Article 95 of the Constitution.  This appointment will be effective from the day of taking oath.  Their appointment took effect after they were sworn in on July 30.
